Clark Airport Free Wifi now boosted up to 200 mbps speed.
The said event was attended by the Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade together with his Under Secretaries and CIAC president & CEO Atty. Emigdio Tanjuatco. Smart Communications big bosses were also there to grace the said launching. On a speech, Sec. Tugade expressed his gratitude towards this move of Smart in installing a more resilient connection in Clark Airport. It was remembered that the government is planning to decongest Ninoy Aquino International Airport to another airport outside Manila, and CIAC is one of the choice having it located near the interconnected highways makes it a viable alternative to NAIA as the country’s next gateway in Luzon.
“The sustained deployment of Smart Wifi in key gateways like the Clark International Airport forms part of our commitment to bring the digital experience to more Filipinos by way of high-speed internet. This is also aligned with our chairman’s vision of developing Clark as the alternate airport to the congested NAIA,”
said Eric R. Alberto, EVP for PLDT/Smart, and president and CEO, ePLDT.
Meanwhile Sec. Tugade also mentioned his plans of providing a free wifi to the whole freeport zone, even way before when he was still the President of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Tugade said,
“There are other areas that need to be to have a Wi-Fi connectivity. Hopefully, my friends in CDC can continue the program so that the intention of the President to connect the entire Clark can be realized,”.
