Engineering Assessment Underway for Bataan Hospital Flood Control Project
After the successful grand launching and press conference of the Flood Protection project for the Jose C. Payumo Jr. Memorial District Hospital (JCPMDH) in Dinalupihan, Bataan, Philippines, Flood Control Asia RS Corp., officially commenced the engineering assessment for the said facility.
On January 28, 2021, RS engineers started the engineering assessment for JCPMDH, which is the initial step to make the said hospital flood-proof.
According to engineer Mark Martinez of Flood Control Asia RS Corp., the engineering assessment for the Jose C. Payumo Jr. Memorial District Hospital plays a vital role for the project.

Architect Manuel Lim from the Province of Bataan said in an interview that the Municipality of Dinalupihan is often beset by flooding even with occasional or light downpour.“Habagat kasi ang kalaban namin dito sa Bataan, which brought us floods. Almost 80% of Dinalupihan was flooded that time [2018]. Nasira ang mga palayan, daan, mga bahay, and also the hospital.”

The flood proofing of the Jose C. Payumo Jr. Memorial District Hospital is an offshoot of an initiative of the Federal Republic of Germany and Flood Control Asia RS Corp. to provide optimum solutions against flooding for critical infrastructures like hospitals in the Philippines. JCPMDH Officer In Charge, Dr. Melinda Layug, expressed her gratitude to the Government of Germany, through Her Excellency Anke Reiffenstuel, Germany’s Ambassador to the Philippines, and Flood Control Asia RS Corp. for providing the grant.“I would like to thank her [HE Anke Reiffenstuel] very much for choosing our hospital to be the recipient of this project. Not everyone has the opportunity to receive this project.”After the engineering assessment, RS engineers will proceed with research and create a detailed engineering plan for the Flood Control project of JCPMDH. The project is expected to be finished on April 30, 2020.
