More CH-47F Chinook helicopter sales through 2022 – Boeing

WASHINGTON — Boeing Co. expressed their forecast to sell 150 more of its CH-47F Chinook helicopters to several countries by 2022, with the chopper’s strong appeal from new countries.

Boeing’s vice president for cargo helicopters, Steve Parker said that the company expected a portion of buyers from the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, including “quite a number of new additional countries”. Germany is one of the countries eyed at a possible acquisition.

Parker mentioned that there could be updates before the end of the year about the foreign orders, through government-to-government foreign military sales and direct commercial sales.

Parker added that Boeing foresee to sustain the production of the helicopters into the 2030’s, and the military was presupposed to continue operating them into the 2060s.
