DPWH to open Mega CoVid-19 Quarantine Facility in Laguna
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to open a “mega” quarantine facility in the province of Laguna to isolate positive, mild, and asymptomatic patients of the Coronavirus (CoVid-19) in the CALABARZON region.
According to DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, the quarantine facility is expected to be completed by mid November 2020 in Calamba City, Laguna.
The said facility has a 600 bed capacity, 50 of which will be for healthcare workers and 550 for positive, mild, and asymptomatic patients.
Once operational, the newly-built quarantine facility will be operated by the Calamba City local government unit, along with the Department of Health and Office for Civil Defense.
As part of CoVid-19 response, the DPWH will continue to construct cubicles and nurse stations, air-conditioned quarantine facilities and quarters for healthcare workers all over the country.
