German Ambassador Thomas Ossowski visits Flood Control Asia
PAMPANGA — German Ambassador to the Philippines Thomas Ossowski visited Flood Control Asia RS Corporation in Clark Freeport Zone on Thursday, October 29, 2015. Germany plays an important role for the Philippines as partner for economic cooperation implemented by German Development Cooperation, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Flood Control Asia RS Corp. is founded by Dr. Andreas Klippe to bring the world renowned German flood control technology of RS Stepanek KG to Asian market.
German development cooperation in the Philippines has been actively engaging into environment-related projects, climate conservation, and adaptation to climate change, under the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
In line with this initiative, Flood Control Asia set up a flood awareness training through the Asian Center for Flood Control. Local residents and members of disaster management team from different barangays in Pampanga benefited in the training.
The ambassador was impressed with Dr. Klippe’s dynamism to bring German small and medium enterprises – known as German Mittelstand – on how to operate successfully in Asia.
