Duterte: To Impose Peace Process as Priority.
On President Duterte’s first State of the nation address, held on July 25, he particularly mention his intentions towards an immediate peace process with the leftist in the country. It is his way to finally end to the long time war of the government against the communist in the Philippines. Here are some of the things he uttered during his SONA that has something to do with the peace process.
- To immediately stop violence on the ground, restore peace in the communities and provide enabling environment conducive to the resumption of the peace talks, I am now announcing a unilateral ceasefire with the CPP-NPA-NDF effective immediately.
