DOLE: Free bicycles for workers displaced by CoVid-19
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) initiated the distribution of bicycles to some displaced workers due to the CoVid-19 pandemic.
According to Atty. Ma. Karina Trayvilla of the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns, DOLE is currently working on the distribution of at least 900 units of bicycles to those who lost their jobs.
DOLE will choose qualified individuals from Manila, Mandaluyong, Muntinlupa, Pasig, and Manila to receive free bicycles they can use for livelihood purposes.
A survey initiated by the department last month revealed 78 percent of the respondents prefer using bicycles for mobility.
