CILA introduces CDC board of directors

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE – Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA) introduced the new Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Board of Directors to its members at the Midori Hotel September 26.

“It would be the first time that CDC board of directors was publicly introduced which they consider CILA as a partner for the development of Clark Freeport Zone,”   said CILA Director Ms. Jeannie Ng.

CDC Assistant Vice-President for Business Development Rodem R. Perez gave a progress report on the New Clark City which is expected to begin next year. Among the projects presented are the Sacobia river road network, the National Government Administrative Center, Philippine Sports City, and Food Processing and International Food Market.

“Around 9,450 hectares inside Clark will be used for the New Clark City,”   he said, “ the groundbreaking will begin in early 2018.”

Also in the upcoming plans are the new flight routes of Cebu Pacific, Philippines Airlines, Wakay Air, Air Asia and Eva Air thus making Clark International airport the gateway of Northern and Central Luzon.

As for the upcoming Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit meetings to be held in Clark in November this year, security measures are already in place. The anti-terrorism and disaster contingencies are being implemented to ensure the safety of the delegates, said Atty. Ramsey Ocampo, Vice President for Security Services. “Also we will coordinate with the security team of the various delegates so it will not hamper their duties,” he also stated.

“As for the rallyists, we will not allow them to enter Clark. Of course, it is their right to hold a rally but only outside the premises of Clark.”

Also on the agenda is the announcement to make Clark as one of the top ten tourist destinations with added attractions like the Go Tours sightseeing bus rides and the 4d Clark Theater. The bus tour will begin on September 29.
