Blackout Caused Delays on Train Service
SINGAPORE — Commuters are stranded on the North East Line, Tuesday morning (October 13) as a blackout paralyzed the trains for more than half an hour.
The power interruption happened at morning rush hour and at least four stations were affected – Hougang, Kovan, Serangoon and Woodleigh.
In a Twitter post at 7:58am, SBS Transit said that the North East Line train service were behind schedule due to a power fault, and expect a delay of 15 minutes in travelling time, it said.
At 8:06am, the transport operator posted another tweet saying that train service between Hougang and Farrer Park stations has been suspended. Free bus services are available at designated bus stops, it said.
At 8:28am, SBS Transit said full train service had resumed. Nonetheless, more stations were overcrowded and cascaded to trip delays.
