Baguio Government uses ‘robot nurse’ for CoVid-19 Patients

Baguio city government received four units of Logistics Indoor Service Assistant (LISA) to assist Covid-19 patients.

LISA is a  remote-control nurse that will give medical support to all Covid-19 patients in Baguio City Community isolation facility at the former Sto. Niño hospital.

According to Rey Balanon of Stouthearted Men Foundation Inc., a corporation created by city-based Saint Louis Boys High Batch 1979, the purpose of the said robots will help medical frontliners to minimize direct contact with CoVid-19 patients.

In an interview, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said he has plans on investing more in this technology. This depends on its efficiency level and the local government unit’s budget for CoVid-19 response.

Dr. Willie Occidental, in charge of overseeing the Sto. Niño hospital said that although they have a few staff only, they still want to make sure everything is sanitized and every patient is treated well. #
