Philippine Ambassadors from various countries visited Pampanga to promote Clark International Airport as part of the economic Diplomacy familiarization tour of Cebu and the Global Conference of Heads of Posts in Manila on February 10.
Clark International Airport Corporation(CIAC) Acting President and CEO Alexander Cauguiran, said that the diplomats came over the weekend to visit the CRK’s major facilities for group’s economic and cultural negotiation tour.
Cauguiran informed the group about the additional flights that are seen to reinforce CRK’s
connectivity with major stop in the country.
“We hope that the diplomatic tour will help in promoting Clark airport in (the ambassadors’) host countries where thousands of Filipinos are located,” he said.
He also presents an apprise of CIA’s Master Development Plan which covers the establishment of a new commuters Terminal with an eight-million-passenger capacity as a directive of Department of Transportation (DOT) headed by Secretary Arthur Tugade.
Chief of CIAC also mentioned about the airport administration seeks to increase a maximum of 4.2 million passenger capacity yearly in the following two to three years of the existing stations.
He said that visitors from Region 1 to 3 and the Camanava area (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Malabon) – with an estimated population of 24.2 million will bring vast market prospective for CRK.
“Under Secretary Tugade’s course, CRK will certainly assist ease the congestion of Metro Manila particularly if passengers from these areas will take into account Clark as their airport of selection,” Cauguiran said.
The Philippine delegates who were in the CRK’s service includes the Philippine ambassador to Geneva, Switzerland Evan Garcia, Jose Jimeno (Berne, Switzerland), Rowena Sanchez(Ankara, Turkey), Celia Feria (Lisbon, Portugal), Junever West (Amman, Jordan), Maria Thomeczek (Berlin, Germany), Consuls General Teresa Dizon de Vega (New York, USA), Oscar Orcine (Manado, Indonesia), and Charge d’Affaires Elmer Cato (Baghdad, Iraq).
In an exclusive interview with Klipp.tv, the Philippine Ambassador to Germany her excellency Maria Thomeczek and former Philippine Ambassador Mr. Jose Abeto Zaide talked about the impact of the progressing growth of the Philippines. They also talked about Germany being bullish on Philippine prospects when it comes to ventures and investments.
“ Germany is always been interested in this time and age on energy issues so the German has been telling us that they are interested to explore a renewable energy opportunities in the Philippines which we also need so much “ Thomeczek said.
She also said that the German is engrossed in infrastructure opportunities that are opening in the areas of transportation and communication.
