Odenwald reveals new prospects in German-PH ties

MAKATI, METRO MANILA – In his visit here on July 4, 2017, Germany’s State Secretary Michael Odenwald met with Philippines’ German community to reveal new prospects in foreign relations.

Odenwald, who serves under Germany’s Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) visited the country as a response to Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade’s invitation. Tugade came to Berlin on March 2017, and his trip paved the way for a better foreign relations between Germany and the Philippines.

Dr. Andreas Klippe, active member of Philippines’ German Club, had a chance to interview Odenwald. Odenwald revealed what went on during his meeting with Tugade, especially the plans to forge an agreement between Philippines and Germany concerning maritime services.

Odenwald also lauded the Filipino government’s efforts to eradicate corruption, a campaign that foreign business sector saw as a positive sign.
